Kathy and I had a ball at last Saturday’s book signing in Orland. The Rusty Wagon’s friendly staff couldn’t have been more gracious. Many wonderful friends—old and new—dropped by, and we all remained warm and cozy on that cold and rainy winter afternoon. I’d like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart!
The best part of our book tour is meeting and talking with so many friendly and interesting people. What an honor it was to be invited by the Pacific Flyway Decoy Association to hold a book signing at their wildfowl art festival in Sacramento as this fine organization celebrated its fiftieth anniversary!
My recent book signing at The Fly Shop in Redding turned out to be everything Kathy and I had hoped for, and a whole lot more. Mike Michalak’s friendly and highly professional staff couldn’t have been more gracious and welcoming. It’s easy to understand why The Fly Shop, one of Redding’s icons, has been in business for forty-four years, draws customers from all over the world, and is still going strong.
Last Saturday’s book signing at the Chico Barnes and Noble was so much fun. We were greeted at the open door by store managers Caitlyn and Alisa. They and their professional staff made us feel at home all day.
Last Saturday’s book signing at the Redding Sportsman’s Expo was a fun-filled day for Kathy and me. We made a lot of new friends and were elated to have so many old friends drop by from all over Northern California. It was heartwarming to receive so many kind words about my books.
Getting to know so many wonderful people who share our passion for nature and reconnecting with old friends are what this adventure is all about. Thanks so much to everyone for your support.

It was a day Kathy and I will not soon forget. Last Saturday’s Chico Costco book signing began with a friendly greeting from Jani, one of Costco’s outstanding staff members. Jani couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating as we set about getting our table ready for the big event.
And then they came! Several longtime friends from Chico and Orland paid us a much-appreciated visit; it warmed our hearts to see so many of our old friends. We were also treated to visits from dozens of new friends.
To all who honored us by dropping by on Saturday, thank you so much. Visiting with you, learning your stories, and having your support made this adventure one we will always remember.

Last Saturday’s Redding Costco book signing was special for Kathy and me. We had the opportunity to visit with many old friends, lots of wonderful new friends, and even a few future game wardens. We also sold out in record time. Thank you, everyone!
Kathy and I had a great time last Saturday at our Chico Barnes and Noble book signing. Longtime friends from Orland, Chico, and Fish and Game came by for a visit, and we made a passel of new friends. Thanks so much to everyone who dropped by. Thank you, also, to the staff at the Chico Barnes and Noble store for hosting our event.
Last Saturday, Kathy and I had the pleasure of doing a book signing at Lassen Volcanic National Park‘s Art and Wine Festival. We had a ball signing books and meeting a lot of wonderful people. Thank you to all who came.
Thank you, also, to Melanie Allen and the Lassen Association for inviting us. As passionate supporters of our national parks, Kathy and I are honored to have The Game Warden’s Son in the bookstores of the Lassen Park visitor centers.
Kathy and I have always said that the best thing about giving presentations and doing book signings is the interesting people we have the opportunity to meet. Last weekend’s book signing at the Pacific Flyway Decoy Association’s 46th Annual Classic Wildlife Festival certainly validated that notion. Wildlife sculptors from all over California and the western U.S. gathered in Sacramento to showcase their talents.
